Ordinary people - Amazing things

Formed in 1970 Malling District Lions Club has proudly served the local and International community ever since. The Club holds various events throughout the year to raise funds; Tin Shakes and Car Parking are our specialities. We have 21 full members with three prospective members and one assoicate member. We also have a thriving body of friends of Lions who help us out at events as well as attending social gatherings.

We provide drivers for Age Concern Sunday Lunch Club. Last Christmas we provided over 100 hampers to the local needy, including 25 to families.

We have a monthly 'Eat and Meet' where we all meet up with our partners and friends in a local pub for an enjoyable social evening; once a year we have our Charter Night, to celebrate the Club's formation, usually in the form of a formal Dinner and Dance - this year it was held once again at Oakwood House in Maidstone on 12th November.

The year 2010 saw a very special anniversary when we celebrated 40 years since the Club's foundation - many friends and fellow Lions joined us on that occasion.

At this year's Charter Night we are proud to report that Past District Governor, Lion Mike Howes was presented with the highest award in Lionism - the Melvin Jones Fellowship - in recognition of his excellent personal contribution to the work of Lions International in District 105SE.
